Review: That Time I Got Drunk and Saved a Human

That Time I Got Drunk and Saved a Human That Time I Got Drunk and Saved a Human by Kimberly Lemming
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was my absolute favorite book out of the Mead Mishaps series. I absolutely loved the character of Cherry and the use of the “he would do anything for her” trope. This also was an Insta love like book one and kept me wanting to know everything until the epilogue.

Review: A Werewolf’s Guide to Seducing a Vampire

A Werewolf’s Guide to Seducing a Vampire A Werewolf’s Guide to Seducing a Vampire by Sarah Hawley
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A Werewolf’s Guide to Seducing a Vampire comes out August 16th. Glimmer Falls and Sarah Hawley have a place in my heart. This has been such a fun series to read and I adore the characters in it.

If your a fan of
-slow burn
-paranormal romance
-Star Trek
- forced proximity
Then this is your book

Sarah Hailey had me in all the feels from page 1. As someone who battles constant anxiety daily, I found myself relating to werewolf Ben Rosewood from the start. From not feeling enough or constantly overthinking of what could go wrong, I just wanted to reach through the words on the page and give him a big hug. Eleanore Bettencourt-Devereux is a Star Trek loving vampire/succubus assassin who is forced to obey orders from the owner of the crystal she has been trapped in. When Ben drunkenly bids on her crystal, both Ben and Eleanore are forced live and work together to find a way to solve both of their problems.

Ok so this one wasn't a bad book it was just that I felt like I was in a book two or a world that was already formed and going. I felt like I was missing connections and just like I should know things that I didn't. Then I found this is actually a spin off of another series called Demonica. I would suggest you read those books before this one to have a better understanding.

I absolutely loved this book! I think Kimberly Leming does an excellent job at integrating spice tastefully in a cozy fantasy novel. This also isn’t in your face cozy fantasy so it’s very palatable to many readers. I recommend this book often.

Review: The Redemption of Morgan Bright

The Redemption of Morgan Bright The Redemption of Morgan Bright by Chris Panatier
My rating: 1 of 5 stars

When I saw the cover of this book and read the description I was so excited to read it. Unfortunately it seems I committed the sin of judging a book by its cover, and it did not live up to the hype I had given it.

I spent the majority of the 30 pages I read feeling very confused. The timeline of the story was not immediately clear to me and I’m not sure if the story is happening in the 1950’s, 2010’s, or sometime in the future. I was also confused as to who was talking in what chapter, and when the storyline of the FMC’s sister would ever enter the picture. I was to confused and not invested enough to keep on reading

Holy cow man! I love how Poppy has finally come into her own by the end of this one. All bets are off where she is concerned and just where this story is going, shocked me. I loved how this one ended and just every page to tell you the truth. I can not wait to start the next book! ~JLP

A Kingdom of Flesh and Fire A Kingdom of Flesh and Fire by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Although I do think this has a tad too much rehashing I think that it would be fine if I wasn't reading these back to back. That being said wow this was amazing and so very good. That ending about killed me and if I had to wait a year for another I would have about died. This story was so good and I love how Poppy keeps getting stronger and stronger from what she was. I can not wait to see how far she goes or what she becomes as the story progresses. If you are looking for a new series to fall in love with check this one out! ~JLP
