Review: Snow & Ink, Vol. 1

Snow & Ink, Vol. 1 Snow & Ink, Vol. 1 by Miyuki Unohana
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This had a soft, delicate vibe that was really sweet at times, and the art was super pretty. I liked the overall tone and concept, but the pacing felt a bit uneven and the characters didn’t fully pull me in. Still, it had its charm and moments that made me smile. A gentle start to a series that has potential to grow.

Review: Bloodguard

Bloodguard Bloodguard by Cecy Robson
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

This one was not for me. Unfortunately I felt like this was a slog. The author spent so much time describing things at the start and it slowed the story down to the point that once things actually start happening. You have been bogged down with useless information you don't even remember and slow that you just don't care by the time things start happening.
So unfortunately for this reader. This is just a not so good book wrapped in a pretty package.

Review: Januaries: Stories of Love, Magic & Betrayal

Januaries: Stories of Love, Magic & Betrayal Januaries: Stories of Love, Magic & Betrayal by Olivie Blake
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This collection was such a dreamy, weird, and emotional ride—in the best way possible. Januaries is like stepping into a maze of magic, heartbreak, and sharp little truths that hit way harder than expected. Olivie Blake’s writing is lyrical and haunting, with that signature “what did I just read but also yes” energy she’s known for.

Every story had its own vibe, but they all carried this thread of love tangled with something darker—betrayal, longing, a little bit of madness. Some stories were soft and aching, others totally unhinged (in the coolest way). It felt like flipping through someone’s most magical nightmares and tender daydreams all at once.

This isn’t the kind of book you rush through—it’s the type you sit with, let it linger, and then suddenly realize one of the stories burrowed into your brain. A total must-read for fans of beautifully strange, emotionally charged tales.

Review: The Enemy’s Daughter

The Enemy’s Daughter The Enemy’s Daughter by Melissa Poett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Enemy's Daughter wasn’t a bad book, but it didn’t quite live up to my expectations. The romance didn’t match what the blurb promised, and it felt a bit lackluster compared to what I was hoping for. While the story had potential, it just didn’t have the emotional impact I expected, leaving me feeling a bit underwhelmed by the end.
